Comparison of pilot licences

Considering which pilot licence to choose?

Here you can find a comparison of pilot licences. I. e., information on how much does pilot training cost, or what aircraft are you allowed to fly, so you can choose the right one.

Price for the PPL(A) training

Private Pilot Licence
14 700 17 645 € including VAT 21 %
  • The price includes:
  • 45 hours of flying in Cruiser PS28 aircraft
  • 60 instructor hours
  • Theoretical course - 50 hours of training in classroom
  • You don't have to pay the full amount up front, but as you fly.
  • If you pay for the entire training in advance, you will receive a 5 % discount.

Private pilot training is suitable for those who want to fly general aviation aircraft, fly at night and continue to gain further qualifications.

A pilot’s licence that allows you to fly single-engine aircraft all over Europe and further expand your qualifications, for example, to fly Boeing.

With us, you will train on modern and well-equipped aircraft

The most suitable aircraft for training is the Cruiser PS-28 or Cessna 172 SP and later you can fly any general aviation aircraft such as Piper, Cirrus SR22, Cessna 400 Corvalis, etc.

International license according to ICAO standards

This licence is valid worldwide. With this licence, you can fly without any restrictions all over Europe and, after administrative validation, also in the USA, Japan or Asia.

After completing the PPL(A) training, you can also rent larger and faster aircraft without any problems.

In the category of general aviation aircraft, you can rent a 2 – 6 seater aircraft for your flights with us.

You can fly all single-engine piston aircraft

After completing your PPL(A) private pilot training, you will be licensed to fly any single-engine piston aircraft that is single-pilot, in daylight hours around the world.

This rating does not entitle you to conduct commercial flights for remuneration (for example sightseeing flights or airtaxi). You may only fly for your personal use and with friends. However, flights for personal use are also considered to be your business trips or those that you can register with a travel order in your accounts in the same way as if you were driving a car.

You can progressively apply for additional pilot qualifications

Other qualifications include a Night Flying Rating (NIGHT), Multi-Engine Endorsement (MEP), Water Landing with Floats, Turbine Aircraft, Flight Instructor Rating, Aerobatic Flying, Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Flying in No Visibility of Ground Conditions (IFR) or an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).

The basic training curriculum requires 45 hours in the aircraft and 50 hours of theoretical training.

Price for the ULL(A) training

Pilot licence for ultralight aircraft
5 540 6 580 € including VAT 21 %
  • The price includes:
  • 20 hours of flying in ECHO P92 aircraft
  • 30 instructor hours
  • Theoretical course - 50 hours of training in classroom
  • You don't have to pay the full amount up front, but as you fly.
  • If you pay for the entire training in advance, you will receive a 5 % discount.

Choose the ultralight pilot licence if you want to fly mainly for your personal use and at the lowest possible cost.

A great choice for those who want to start flying modern UL aircraft at very low prices, especially for their personal use and fun.

We provide training on the modern UL aircraft of today.

After the training, you can rent any other type of ultralight aircraft without any problems.

Today’s UL airplanes are no longer made in a garage out of aluminium tubing and covered in canvas. Our school only flies factory-built aircraft from the world´s best manufacturers. Today’s UL aircraft surpass the General Aviation ones in many ways, especially in speed, cockpit equipment (screens, autopilots) while maintaining the same safety. Moreover, most UL aircraft are already equipped with a parachute rescue system for the worst situations.

One can find the opinion that UL aircraft often “crash”. This is, of course, due to the great media publicity that such an event generates. But as you will soon discover in training, the problem is not with UL aircraft, but with the irresponsibility and perhaps poor training of their pilots.

In our school, we treat the training of a UL pilot in exactly the same way as we treat PPL(A) training because ultimately they have to be pilots of the same quality even if they fly cheaper aircraft.

The cheapest way to learn to fly and use the air for your private journeys and business trips across the country and Europe.

After completing UL aircraft pilot training, you are authorized to fly UL aircraft with restrictions outside of controlled airspace and only during daylight hours and ground visibility. The advantage over general aviation aircraft is that they can have a rescue parachute installed for the worst-case scenarios.

Ultralight aircraft are always single-engine and maximum of 2 seats with a take-off weight limitation of max. 600 kg. They can only be flown during the day and only non-commercial flights.

After completing the training you can make a rating for so-called VFR controlled flights, which entitles you to fly in controlled airspace (at larger airports such as Brno, Ostrava, Prague) or UL aircraft instructor and teach other people to fly. Our pilot course already includes the rating because we fly in controlled airspace.

The UL pilot license is a national qualification

This license is not automatically valid in other European countries. Some European countries require a permit to enter their airspace before flying (Switzerland). Flying into most other European countries is without major administrative restrictions (Slovakia, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Hungary, France, etc.).

The basic training curriculum involves flying 20 hours in the aircraft and 50 hours of theoretical instruction.

Overview of pilot licences

We will answer your questions about the aircraft and training and fly you through the aircraft for 30 minutes. You will see if piloting the aircraft meets your expectations and if you want to continue your training.
